"Telecoms equipment vendor Nokia has won a deal to renew and expand the German National Research and Education Network's (DFN), IP core router network in Germany.

The US asked communications providers to rip out and replace equipment made by Huawei Technologies and ZTE Corporation years ago, but is yet to provide all the funding needed for this task.
