The attacker(s) who launched a ransomware attack on medical insurer Medibank Group has released some additional data from among the tranche which was stolen. Ransomware generally attacks only systems running Microsoft's Windows operating system. 

Medical insurer Medibank Group has increased its estimate of the number of customers who could be affected by the theft of data from its networks, saying the attacker(s) accessed data of some 9.7 million current and former subscribers.

The next instalment of the Medibank Group data breach has arrived, with the company confessing on Thursday that patient information from My Home Hospital had also been accessed by an attacker.

TechnologyOne founder Adrian Di Marco says he will step down from the company on 30 June 2022.
