Spam levels stable: Symantec

Spam levels remain at 90 percent, according to security provider Symantec. But the situation would have worsened if a major botnet hadn't suffered downtime during June.

A new report puts Australia well ahead of the US and several European nations in terms of broadband access. Far from painting a picture of Australia being a broadband challenged nation, the report puts Australia's broadband penetration ahead of the UK, Sweden, Germany and France, among other affluent nations.

Kaspersky Lab claims it has detected its 25 millionth piece of malware.

Early risers sleepier in evenings

A Belgium study involving sleep and circadian rhythm found the brain is continually trying to balance the circadian signal (when you want to naturally sleep and be awake) and homeostatic pressure (the counting of the number of hours during sleep and while awake). This battle determines if you are more attentive during the afternoons and evenings.
