HyperX – the gaming oriented, high performance division of Kingston Technology – launched its Savage USB Flash drive replacing the previously underwhelmingly named DataTraveler.
Available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB capacities it will theoretically provide speeds of 350MB/s read and 250MB/s write but that depends on the device you are using – in any case it will be much faster than a USB 2.0 flash drive.
It is good for storing large digital files, movies, music, and hi-res images. USB 3.1 is compatible the latest desktops, notebooks and gaming consoles such as PS4 and Xbox One. It is also backwards compatible.
“We are excited to offer this USB drive for gamers and enthusiasts to take advantage of the emerging USB 3.1 Gen. 1 standard,” said Nathan Su, Flash Memory Sales Director, APAC Region, Kingston. “This is our fastest USB Flash drive and the combination of high performance and great looks with its aggressive design make it a perfect solution for PCs and consoles.”
