Epos Impact 1000 Bluetooth headsets bring audio clarity in busy open office environments

By

Professionals can work from anywhere today, and that 'anywhere' isn't always silent. Open offices, coffee shops, airports, and even your own barking dog at home can interfere with clear communication. Audio brand Epos has a solution with its new Impact 1000 future-proof Bluetooth headset designed to address these everyday noise challenges and ensure crisp audio.

EPOS develops audio and video solutions backed by science and builds on decades of leading psychoacoustic research. Its latest scientific research study sought to evaluate the potential benefits of noise attenuation, or noise reduction, in audio devices, while people performed a dual task consisting of understanding speech while reacting to a visual task.

The study found noise attenuation, such as the hybrid adaptive ANC in Impact 1000 headsets when performing dual tasks includes 67% less listening effort and 48% better speech recognition in a noisy environment. In other words, the headset range can minimise the brain effort needed to listen to and understand conversations and thus optimise efficiency by up to 40%.

It's not simply science for the sake of it; EPOS leverages machine learning from insights like these to put smarts into its headsets to help users better process and understand audio stimuli, and it's no denying workers everywhere often find themselves multitasking without realising it.

EPOS calls its tech to solve this BrainAdapt, and has imbued its EPOS Impact 1000 headsets with BraindAdapt along with hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC) and industry-leading AI-powered voice pickup. That pickup is based on machine learning tech itself, to scan user environments a whopping 32,000 times per second to suppress disruptive sound and enhance call audio to ensure only the relevant sounds are filtered through to the person the user is speaking with - while simultaneously blocking out unwanted background sounds for the user themselves.

The Impact 1000 is designed for all-day wearing comfort and comes with a lightweight design, soft cushions, headband padding, and Super Wideband for natural sound. You can use it all day with total ease, sit it on a contactless charging stand, and control it via intuitive on-headset controls.

The headsets also offer triple Bluetooth connectivity so users can be connected to three devices at once - your laptop, mobile phone, and desk phone, say. A 360 busy light signals to your colleagues when you're on a call, while Talk Through features allow you to communicate with them without removing the headset.

The EPOS Impact 1000 range has been awarded iF Design Award Gold and Red Dot Design Award, reflecting the calibre of the products' design excellence and innovation.

EPOS VP product management Theis Mørk says, “As the complexities of the modern work-scape continue to evolve so too must the solutions that we use to ensure productivity and communication. Backed by world-leading psychoacoustic data, the IMPACT 1000 is a trailblazing innovation for professionals and businesses operating in the New Open Office environment. Communication is at the core of business success and it's integral that leaders think intentionally about how they are optimising the potential of technology solutions to empower their employees. Doing so will help improve productivity, accuracy, and efficiency.”

The EPOS Impact 1000 is certified for Microsoft Teams and meets the Open Office requirements. It is available now globally with prices beginning at $485 ($NZ 539).
