There were 349.9 million domain name registrations across all top-level domains at the end of the third quarter of 2022, according to domain name registry services provider Verisign.

349.9 million registrations is a decrease of 1.6 million domain name registrations on the previous quarter, but an increase of 11.5 million year on year.

Approximately half of the registrations are in the .com and .net top level domains (TLDs), 160.9 million in .com and 13.2 million in .net. Just under 10 million new .com and .net domains were registered during the quarter.

Turning to country-code TLDs, there were a total of 132.4 million registrations. Again, registrations were down 1.7 million on the previous quarter but up 5.7 million year on year.

The top 10 ccTLDs as of 30 September 2022 were .cn, .de, .uk, .nl, .ru, .br, .au, .fr, .eu and .it.
