WA contract win for SCG

By

Australian vendor, CSG has secured a contract to overhaul the IT systems that are the foundation for Western Australian manufacturing and construction company, AGC.

According to AGC CIO, David Redpath, a period of growth for the company highlighted the need for a 'sophisticated it system to support and automate processes and provide accurate information instantly.'

Redpath said the market in which AGC operates has changed and it was necessary to keep pace with it solutions to continue to deliver quality results for clients.

'Today we help our clients both large and small to build, maintain and upgrade some of the world's most challenging oil, gas and mineral resource development projects. Our clients now expect a level of automation, integration of systems and timely information that provide more efficient processes.

'We are also experiencing rapid growth and saw that a sophisticated it system could support our people by providing the right tools for the job, rather than being time consuming manual processes.'

According to CSG general manager Julie-Ann Kerin, with a significant presence in Western Australia and considerable experience in the mining and resource sector, the company was well placed to respond to a tender with a tailor made system that would 'improve the strategic business processes and automate key business operations.'

Kerin said the size and flexibility of CSG has allowed the company to use a variety of Oracle software to build and Implement a technology package that will 'drive growth and efficiency for AGC industries.'

'We looked at everything the business needed from human resources, supply chain management and manufacturing processes through to detailed financial reporting to develop a system that will support AGC now and well into the future.'

The AGC tender was awarded to CSG at the end of last month and work starts in August before the system goes live by March 2012.
