UXC connects up the water

By

ICT solutions and services vendor, UXC Connect, has signed a new infrastructure outsourcing contract with Melbourne Water, valued at over $20 million to deliver service desk, desktop support, network and server management, security and facilities management for the utility.

UXC won the contract after a competitive tender process and follows the earlier successful implementation of Melbourne Water’s new Cisco-based Common Wide Area Network and Unified Communications projects, providing employees with greatly improved performance and functionality across voice, video and data services.

Ian Poole, CEO of UXC Connect said, “We are delighted to have Melbourne Water entrust us with supporting their business through the management of their infrastructure. Our proven experience and capability in delivering high-quality services and solutions to other similar sized organisations, puts us in an ideal position to secure the contract.

“Increasingly, businesses need flexible solutions that represent value for money with results that can be measured. UXC Connect’s approach to outsourcing employs a model based on a genuine partnership, ensuring a close fit with an organisation’s needs that delivers mutual benefits.”

Melbourne Water CIO, Viviann Zavlanos, said, “Our focus in recent years has been finding an organisation that can provide the leveraged outsourcing expertise that delivers greater value and innovation. We are delighted to be working with UXC Connect, a company that meets these needs and that shares our commitment and values towards delivering an outstanding customer experience for our users.”

The transition program for Melbourne Water has commenced and Poole said UXC expects to start delivering full services early in the New Year.
