Engin's slow September

By
VoIP provider Engin has reported 49,000 paying subscribers, up from 46,000 at the end of September during which  month, it says "sales were soft".
However the company said sales had improved in October with between 3500 and 4000 additions. And call revenues for the September quarter were 34 percent up on the June quarter.

The figures were revealed by CEO, Ilkka Tales, in his address to the company's AGM at which shareholders were asked to vote on the proposed sale of 33 percent of the company to Seven Network for $26 million

Tales said that Seven's reach would "demystify VoIP and take it to mainstream" through Channel Seven, Yahoo!7and Pacific Magazines.

He told iTWire that the fall off in September sales was the result of the company focusing its energies on several major projects: the strategic partnership with Seven, the launch of the HP PC with embedded Engin ATA and Engin softphone and the launch of the Engin DECT cordless internet phone products.
