felix claims more than 500,000 trees planted in its sustainability report

By

TPG Telecom mobile service felix claims in its first sustainability report it has planted more than 500,000 trees, offset in excess of 2,700 tonnes of CO2, and purchased 1880 megawatt hours (MWH) of a large-scale renewable certificates to remain powered by 100% renewable electricity.

To achieve its goal of planting one million trees around the world, felix partnered with non-profit One Tree Planted.

“Just for choosing felix as your phone plan provider, we’ll contribute one tree for every month you’re with us through One Tree Planted,” felix wrote in its CSR page.

Claiming to have donated more than half a million trees in 2022, felix and its community of customers have contributed planting a total of 656,699 trees.

felix also reduced its plastic use by 35% in 2022 thanks to the launch of its eSIM technology which has enabled customers to sign up and activate their mobile service in a matter of minutes while also helping eliminate plastic e-waste from going to landfill.

felix’s home-grown app has paved way for the launch of the eSIM, which eliminates the need for a physical SIM card.

Customers can now activate their mobile service through the felix app in minutes, instead of waiting days for a physical SIM card to be mailed out, felix claims.

“2023 looks bigger and brighter for felix with many exciting things coming – all supported by our mission which will guide our business principles and support our values, while continuing to make positive impact on the planet and growing our product to be the best there is for our customers,” said felix head Kelly Beater.
