It seems that when used in conjunction with other Bluetooth devices (and how many of you have one of these keyboards but use it with a wired mouse?) the battery life wasn't all it should have been.
2009 Aluminum Keyboard Firmware Update 1.0 addresses that issue, though Apple isn't saying how much of an improvement it should make.
Ensure that the keyboard is paired with the Mac, and that its battery isn't already flat. Apple advises that non-essential USB and FireWire devices should be disconnected and MacBooks and MacBook Pros should be connected to the mains supply before attempting to update the keyboard firmware.
As usual, a two-stage process is involved. The update package is downloaded and installed, and then the application that actually updates the firmware in the keyboard should run automatically. If it doesn't, run the Aluminum Wireless Keyboard Firmware Update from the /Applications/Utilities folder.

Aluminum Keyboard Firmware Update 1.1 was released last month to deal with a similar problem with older keyboards. It also fixed a problem that could cause keystrokes to repeat unexpectedly.
The Mac Pro Audio Update 1.0 addresses the way the early 2009 Mac Pro tends to use an inordinate amount of CPU power for tasks such as playing or recording music.
Affected users reported higher than usual CPU temperatures, increased power consumption, and a slight drop in performance.
One problem with the update is that it requires Mac OS X 10.6.2, but the problem has also been reported with Mac OS X 10.5. There are said to be some pro audio applications that are not yet certified for Snow Leopard, which could prevent some owners upgrading to the newer operating system.
