MYOB on the go Featured

By

Australian accounting software vendor MYOB has launched its first enterprise mobile business application, called EXO OnTheGo.

It is the latest in a series of products MYOB is rolling out to extend its products to the cloud and mobile devices.

EXO OnTheGo allows staff to access MYOB’s on-premise EXO Business accounting suite from iPhones and iPads. MYOB says this enables the better management of quote and order process, as well as debt collection and general account management.

MYOB’s Andrew Birch says the release of OnTheGo is part of the continued development of the company’s mid-sized business product suite – EXO Business. “A recent study by the Economic Intelligence Unit showed that 71% of sales teams were spending too much time on administrative tasks and this was reducing sales productivity.

“EXO OnTheGo offers enterprise businesses greater functionality when working anywhere at any time. It has been designed specifically to meet the needs of businesses with salespeople or account managers who are working in the field.

“Ultimately, it will significantly improve customer satisfaction with the speed and efficiency with which suppliers can service them, which helps ensure these enterprises are as competitive as possible. Customers will receive their orders more quickly with less room for error. And with access to real time information, their suppliers can commit to delivery times.”

Birch says the market is increasingly demanding mobile access to financial systems for querying, order fulfilment and reporting, “By offering our own mobile solution, developed specifically for MYOB EXO Business, clients will have a single partner providing their entire ERP system – no more having to work with multiple vendors and run the risk of poor integration or communication between them.”

EXO OnTheGo offers a complete end-to-end order entry process on the go. Sales staff can create customers and contacts, enter and amend orders, even view inventory and item status in real time – all at the client’s door.

“Account managers can also keep on top of debt management, with features enabling them to view customer balances and outstanding invoices, as well as access invoice information and update notes about the customer

Birch says the new innovation is another big step in the MYOB EXO Business system journey, “Applications like OnTheGo are just part of the picture, as we continue to invest in the ongoing development of EXO Business.” The app utilises the new MYOB EXO API, released in November 2013, enabling third party developers in MYOB’s ecosystem to integrate mobile applications with MYOB EXO Business.
