Cloud-delivered LTE and 5G wireless network edge solutions provider Cradlepoint has redesigned its W1855-5GC Wideband Adapter.

The adapter is “purpose-built” to require less design materials and operational energy than its predecessor while adhering its 5G standards.

The product was demoted to exhibition visitors at the Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo on the Gold Coast, Australia earlier this month.

According to Gartner, “86% of business leaders see sustainability as an investment that protects their organisation from disruption. Designed for distributed sites that require secure cellular connectivity or failover in the event of a primary link disruption, the W1855-5GC Wideband.”

Cradlepoint claims the following benefits:

Expansion of 5G: The refreshed modem features the latest 5G standards with 3GPP Release 16 specifications, providing customers with expanded carrier aggregation and band combinations as service providers grow their 5G services.

More sustainable design: Compared to its predecessor, the W1855-5GC Wideband Adapter is 78% smaller and 74% lighter, requiring 30% less energy when under load. In addition, the device is securely packaged with 84% less packaging, which is 100% plastic free. The aluminium housing reinforces Cradlepoint’s commitment to sustainably sourced and recycled materials.

Centralised device management and visibility: With Cradlepoint NetCloud Manager, IT teams can manage the deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of each device from centralised locations, reducing unnecessary complexity and costly on-site visits.

Streamlined installation: At half the size and weight of previous outdoor adapters, the stylised W1855-5GC eases installation for field personnel.

“After seeing the Cradlepoint W1855 Adapter and its capability to enable network slicing and 5G standalone, several of the organisations said they would consider setting up entirely wireless construction sites, with the confidence that they would get the same if not better reliability, speed, and security,” claimed Cradlepoint senior sales engineer Asia Pacific Tim Blombery.

The Cradlepoint W1855-5GC Wideband Adapter is available now in Australia and New Zealand and will be available in Q1 2024 in Japan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand.

All Cradlepoint routers and adapters are packed using plastic-free and recyclable shipping material.

  • ManageEngine: Expands its Integration Network with 100+ Prebuilt Integrations for Enterprise Identity Management

The company's IAM platform, AD360, helps converge disconnected identities

    • ManageEngine AD360 expands its integration support, with 100+ new ready-to-use integrations
    • These integrations empower enterprises for seamless, scalable identity management across diverse IT applications

ManageEngine, a division of Zoho Corporation and a leading provider of enterprise IT management solutions, has announced that AD360, its identity and access management (IAM) platform, is further expanding its integration offerings, by adding over 100 new prebuilt integrations. This expansion is a decisive step in the company's endeavour to strengthen its converged IAM platform capabilities. In addition to the extension of support to popular HRMS, ITSM, SIEM, and other enterprise applications, AD360 also comes with REST API capabilities for custom integration with third-party and in-house applications.

Why this matters: The enterprise perspective

Large enterprises today face a major challenge: managing various tools with widespread, fragmented data. In a press release titled "Gartner Identifies the Top Cybersecurity Trends for 2025" (issued March 3, 2025), Gartner highlights a common challenge for large enterprises: the need to optimise their cybersecurity toolsets for efficiency and security while balancing selections for an average of 45 cybersecurity tools available from over 3,000 vendors.

Although enterprises often operate in multi-vendor IT environments out of necessity, this is an added complexity that leads to fragmented identities, resulting in delays in access and increased IT overhead. For example, Gartner’s 2024 IAM Leadership Survey found that 54 per cent of organisations have seen an increase in the number of identity-related breaches, with one in three organisations experiencing increased business interruptions, financial loss or regulatory penalties from such incidents. As many as 85 per cent of identity-related breaches can be attributed to hacked machine identities such as service and automation accounts. Additionally, according to Verizon's 2024 Data Breach Investigations Report, around 31 per cent of all breaches since 2013 involve stolen credentials.

With global compliance laws and regulations requiring organisations to maintain accurate and up-to-date identity and access data at all times, keeping these records updated is critical. Seamless integration of identities is no longer just an IT challenge for enterprises; it's a business imperative.

"Our vision is to eliminate identity fragmentation and radically simplify enterprise identity governance," said Manikandan Thangaraj, vice president at ManageEngine. "With AD360’s expanded integrations, we're empowering businesses to build truly unified digital ecosystems. With this release, we want to help our customers transform identity management from an operational burden into a strategic enabler of productivity, agility, and security. Now, a hospital can auto-provision clinician access in Epic EHR the same day they’re hired in Workday, with no coding and no delays."

Enabling business agility with seamless integrations

ManageEngine AD360's integrations leverage industry-standard protocols—including SCIM, SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), OAuth 2.0, and REST APIs—ensuring seamless compatibility across diverse IT ecosystems. Through an intuitive no-code configuration interface, IT teams can effortlessly establish connections and design automated workflows without specialised programming knowledge, dramatically accelerating implementation timelines from months to mere days.

ManageEngine's extensive integration network for identity access management enables:

    • Accelerated value realisation: Enterprises can quickly integrate and automate identity workflows, reducing operational costs, minimising errors, and enhancing productivity through unified life cycle management and real-time identity synchronisation.
    • Strategic flexibility and choice: Maintain the freedom to integrate with a vast range of enterprise applications without vendor lock-ins, ensuring compatibility, scalability, and support for diverse business needs.
    • Advanced identity automation: With businesses seeking productivity improvements, AD360 can implement sophisticated, no-code identity orchestration processes to automate critical activities such as user provisioning, access modifications, identity synchronisation, and secure offboarding across a company's identity ecosystem.
    • Zero-gap compliance: Automatically align identity records across HR, IT, and security systems to pass audits for the GDPR, HIPAA, and SOX.

"The interoperability between critical business applications streamlines processes such as onboarding and offboarding, delivering measurable business value and accelerating ROI. Legacy IAM tools often treat integrations as an afterthought, requiring months to integrate an organisation's IAM tech stack with ITSM or HCM tools. AD360 helps accomplish this with just a few clicks. It's not just about connecting systems—it's about fundamentally changing how enterprises manage identities while minimising security risks," Thangaraj stated.

  • 2degrees and Nokia sign six-year 5G cloud native deal in NZ

Kiwi telecoms provider 2degrees has inked a six-year Voice Core deal with Nokia, which will see the operator tap Nokia’s containerised Cloud Native Communication Suite (CNCS) to deploy new 5G services and optimise network resources.

According to Nokia, CNCS makes it easier for operators like 2degrees to deploy multiple vendors’ applications on the same cloud infrastructure, streamline network activities, enhance automation, and minimise manual intervention.

"2degrees will utilise CNCS to bring together multiple IMS voice 3GPP functionalities into a single cloud-native network function," says Nokia.

"It will be deployed on the Nokia Cloud Platform, which integrates a full set of Red Hat cloud products, including Red Hat OpenShift."

Stephen Kurzeja, CTIO at 2degrees said the CNCS provides the operator with a much-simplified core architecture that enables new monetisation and innovation pathways to enhance the subscriber experience and further optimise how 2degrees manages its network with new automation tools.

“We are happy to expand our relationship with Nokia as we continue to modernise our network,” said Kurzeja.

    {loadposition stan}

Nokia says integrating with Red Hat OpenShift gives operators the option to scale their 5G network footprint and quickly introduce new services with enhanced capacity, performance, life cycle management, automation, and energy management.

CNCS improves energy efficiency by about 10% to 20%, relative to a standard IMS Voice Core, according to Nokia data.

“We are pleased to extend our collaboration with 2degrees with Nokia’s flexible and reliable cloud-native CNCS architecture,” said Wilson Maria, Head of Cloud and Network Services, Oceania at Nokia.

"This will enable the roll-out of new innovative services more quickly, securely, and without limitations in multi-cloud environments to meet the evolving and more demanding connectivity needs of 2degrees’ customers."

As part of the agreement, 2degrees will also integrate Nokia’s MantaRay Network Management solution for a consolidated network view.

"2degrees already leverages a variety of other Nokia 5G Core networking functions like Shared Data Layer, where data is stored, through NCP, which reflects Nokia’s multi-cloud strategy of providing operators with the infrastructure of their choice," says Nokia.

  • SailPoint unveils Harbor Pilot: AI-Powered Agents Transforming Identity Security
    in Data
    • New AI-powered digital agents accelerate identity security operations and decision-making
    • SailPoint sets its sights on securing the rising number of AI agents in the enterprise

SailPoint, Inc. (Nasdaq: SAIL), a leader in unified identity security for enterprises, today announced SailPoint Harbor Pilot, a set of AI agents designed to help identity teams work smarter, respond faster and secure their organisations more efficiently. Unveiled at the Gartner Identity & Access Management Summit in London, Harbor Pilot automates identity security tasks, simplifies workflow creation, and provides AI-driven insights through conversational prompts, reducing administrative burden and improving security posture.

In addition, SailPoint also announced that the company anticipates that it will soon extend identity security to manage and secure AI agents as a new identity type that enterprises are struggling to properly govern. As enterprises increasingly adopt AI-driven systems, AI agents are an emerging category of digital identities that must be actively managed and secured. According to a recent SailPoint survey, a significant majority of respondents, 82%, reported that their organisations are utilising AI agents today.

Meeting a growing need for AI-powered identity security

Security teams today face an expanding threat landscape, increasing identity complexity and a shortage of skilled professionals. However, many security teams are understaffed and remain bogged down with manual workflows, fragmented systems, and complex identity data. The challenge is further intensified by the sheer volume of information identity teams handle, making it difficult to quickly locate the right information. Harbor Pilot streamlines this process by enabling teams to search and retrieve identity insights in real-time using conversational prompts—no complex queries or manual searching required.

SailPoint Harbor Pilot serves as a force multiplier, enabling security teams to:

    • Quickly access documentation: Security professionals need rapid access to identity security documentation across multiple products and platforms. Harbor Pilot Documentation Q&A provides rapid, AI-driven responses, delivering relevant documentation with source links. This significantly reduces time spent searching through technical resources, allowing teams to resolve issues faster and enforce best practices more effectively.
    • Design powerful workflows faster: Creating identity security workflows is often complex, involving multiple triggers, actions, and operators. The Harbor Pilot Workflows Generator simplifies this process by allowing teams to describe their needs using conversational prompts, and AI will generate optimised workflows with recommendations. This feature helps teams save time, minimise errors, and align security operations with business objectives.

These capabilities can reduce inefficiencies and risk and allow teams to focus on high-impact security strategies rather than repetitive administrative tasks. And this is just the beginning—SailPoint will continue to innovate and expects to bring new Harbor Pilot AI agents to market, helping enterprises address additional use cases and stay ahead in the evolving identity security landscape.

“The traditional approach to identity governance – relying on static policies and manual oversight – can’t keep up with today’s enterprise complexity,” said Matt Mills, President, SailPoint. “To keep pace with the rapidly evolving digital landscape, organisations need a modern, AI-driven solution that can swiftly adapt and scale to handle a growing range of identity types and the fast pace of digital change. Our goal is to empower security teams to move from a reactive stance to one that is proactive and predictive.”

This latest innovation builds on SailPoint’s long-standing investment in AI. Since 2017, SailPoint has embedded AI into its platform to enhance identity security through enhanced detection, improved decision making, increased operational efficiency, scalability and adaptability. The company’s most recent advancements include Application Onboarding and GenAI-powered entitlement descriptions, which further automate identity security tasks, improving business efficiency.

Expanding identity security to protect AI agents

According to Gartner , “Today’s AI models perform tasks such as generating text, but these are “prompted” — the AI isn’t acting by itself. That is about to change with agentic AI, or AI with agency. By 2028, 33% of enterprise software applications will include agentic AI, up from less than 1% in 2024, enabling 15% of day-to-day work decisions to be made autonomously.” With AI-driven decision-making accelerating, enterprises must ensure that AI agents adhere to the same security and compliance standards as human and machine identities. But securing AI agents is just one piece of the puzzle—organisations need a unified approach to managing all identity types. SailPoint Atlas provides a single pane of glass to manage human, machine, and AI identities, enhancing visibility, augmenting compliance, and reducing risk with AI-driven automation. With Agent Identity Security, SailPoint extends its leadership in identity security, helping enterprises proactively manage emerging risks while scaling securely.

We anticipate that SailPoint’s upcoming Agent Identity Security capabilities will enable organisations to:

    • Manage the lifecycle of AI agents with automated identity governance
    • Enforce access certifications to prevent unauthorised access and security risks

    Availability

    • SailPoint Harbor Pilot will be available starting March 31, 2025, as part of SailPoint Identity Security Cloud. For more information, visit https://www.sailpoint.com/products/harbor-pilot
    • We expect Agentic Identity Security to be available later this year.
