Camtasia 2019 launches with over 80% of the most popular feature and improvement requests from users

By

Promising to instantly smooth out audio and the cursor path in the new Camtasia 2019 release amongst a host of other features, the ability to share your expertise visually through screen capture and video creation is even easier.

TechSmith Corporation, the creators of Camtasia 2019, say that the latest version "offers new functionality that empowers anyone to create digital media to teach, train and explain concepts through video".

Troy Stein, senior director of Camtasia, noted that this version of Camtasia was heavily influenced by requests from users, stating: “We receive great feedback from our customers and our goal is always to address as much feedback as possible with each new release.

“We’re incredibly proud to say that Camtasia 2019 includes more than 80% of the most popular feature and improvement requests from our users.”

Stein also said these new features brings Camtasia to a new level of productivity, whether you’re a video novice or seasoned veteran, noting: “Camtasia has always optimised the creation of professional content with minimal effort.

"We also provide expert training resources and unmatched customer support to help those with little or no experience in making videos. Camtasia 2019 has built on that and made video creation easier than ever.

“But even if you’ve been making videos for years, you’ll find this new version gives you more flexibility and more tools to make your videos even faster than before", Stein continued.

So, what are some of the headline new features?

Automatic audio levelling

"Now, your videos will sound better than ever, no matter how many audio files you add to the timeline with Automatic Audio Levelling. Camtasia 2019 automatically adjusts your audio tracks so that you have consistent levels in every video project. You may not see it, but your audience will hear it."

Mouse cursor smoothing

"The new Cursor Smoothing effect, will make mouse movements clean and easy-to-follow. Now you can instantly smooth out your mouse cursor movements in your screen recordings."

Editable keyboard shortcuts

Techsmith say they've added "ten times the customiSable keyboard shortcuts in Camtasia 2019. These shortcuts make it easy to personalise your workflow with settings that are familiar to you."

Support for themes with logos or other images

"Themes in Camtasia 2019 have been updated so you can now include your own images or logos. Easily apply it to one of the editable video assets for an impactful, consistently branded video."

Other features include

"New device frames, a new Whip Spin transition, a block text style for annotations and callouts, support for importing PDFs, and more".

The difference between Maintenance Agreement (annual subscription) and a Desktop License:

Available in English, German, French, and Japanese, TechSmith states that with the release of Camtasia 2019, it "has committed to a more regular and predictable cadence for releasing new versions. With that commitment, TechSmith is adding additional value to their Maintenance agreements".

"The Camtasia Maintenance agreement allows customers to add a one-year agreement to their Camtasia license that provides them with an upgrade to the next version of Camtasia when released in 2020, unmatched priority technical support from TechSmith’s expert support team, and the opportunity to become a certified Camtasia user through an on-demand Camtasia certification course.

"This is in addition to TechSmith’s other value-adds, including a huge library of outstanding tutorials, and TechSmith Academy — a free training resource with dozens of lessons to teach anyone how to create better videos."

Wendy Hamilton, chief executive, noted that while Camtasia Maintenance agreements are an annual subscription, Camtasia desktop licenses are still perpetual licenses, meaning you purchase once and own that version permanently.

“Our Maintenance agreements provide additional value that compliments Camtasia the product. For those who choose not to subscribe to maintenance or who let their maintenance subscription end after one year will continue to have access to and use of their license for Camtasia," Hamilton concluded.

Camtasia 2019 retails for A$378.26 via the TechSmith Store.

Customers on previous versions of Camtasia can upgrade for A$151.15.

Customers may also purchase a one-year Camtasia Maintenance agreement for A$75.57, which provides them with an upgrade to the next version of Camtasia when released in 2020, as well as "unmatched priority technical support from TechSmith’s expert support team, and the opportunity to become a certified Camtasia user through an on-demand Camtasia certification course.
