Cloud security platform operator Wiz now has an Australian data centre, allowing it to serve clients that have particular data sovereignty and privacy requirements.

The company says its Sydney data centre uses the same architecture as the rest of its global infrastructure, so innovations and new features will be available on a global schedule.

The Australian Cyber Security Centre's Essential Eight Security Guidelines model are a supported framework at Wiz, along with support for industry benchmarks including CIS Controls, ISO 27001 and SOC2.

The move was welcomed local Wiz customers.

"TechnologyOne has partnered with Wiz to enhance our cyber security posture and reinforce our customer commitment to be the most trusted SaaS platform," said TechnologyOne SaaS platform executive vice president Daniel Sultana.

We're delighted to see Wiz's continued investment in Australia with the announcement of a Sydney data centre and support of the Essential Eight controls."

OFX CISO Santanu Lodh said "The new Sydney data centre gives us further confidence in Wiz's commitment to the market and customers in the Australia region.

"We trust Wiz to help us secure our growing diverse cloud footprint, and this investment will accelerate our adoption of Wiz."

Wiz co-founder and CEO Assaf Rappaport said "The Australian market continues to be a critically important region for Wiz as the pace of innovation and cloud adoption is one of the fastest around the world.

"We will continue to invest heavily in the region and be a strategic cloud security partner for local customers seeking to securely accelerate their cloud journeys."
