ContentWatch has acquired the Net Nanny parental control software from advertising and search company LookSmart.

"We recognise and acknowledge Net Nanny as a strong and longstanding market leader," said Jack Sunderlage, president and CEO of ContentWatch. "[T]hrough this acquisition we are able to provide the best of all worlds to our combined set of customers, as well as rapidly accelerate our plans for aggressive worldwide market growth."

The company will adopt the Net Nanny brand for its consumer products alongside the established ContentProtect business-oriented products, and intends to take advantage of Net Nanny's strong channel presence. According to Australian distributor Manaccom, Net Nanny is the local market leader in the content filtering market.
