Console Connect expands to Auckland, ‘enhancing cloud connectivity’ for New Zealand businesses Featured

By Gordon Peters

COMPANY NEWS: Console Connect, the on-demand platform and global network for intelligent data movement, has expanded to New Zealand, “enhancing cloud connectivity” for local businesses.

Now available at seven data centres across Auckland, Console Connect says it provides New Zealand enterprises with a dedicated, protected route to public clouds hosted in Sydney., and “this enables access to hyperscale providers such as AWS, Google, Oracle Cloud, IBM and Alibaba Cloud, which had previously been difficult for local organisations.”

“While major operators have announced plans to build data centres locally, they have yet to go live. With New Zealand businesses currently relying on Sydney connections to access public clouds, the launch of Console Connect introduces greater flexibility, resilience and redundancy,” notes Console Connect .

“Its one-hop private network connects to hyperscalers and other cloud providers with better performance, speed and security, while providing the option to automate traffic routing and bandwidth provision, eliminating manual processes and simplifying multi-cloud networking.”

“With strong demand for network-as-a-service (NaaS) in New Zealand, the launch of Console Connect offers greater agility and performance for local businesses,” said Michael Glynn, SVP of Digital Automated Innovation, Console Connect.

“A direct and protected route to data centres in Sydney creates more possibilities for hybrid and multi-cloud environments. By improving connectivity to hyperscale providers that were previously hard to engage, it opens up opportunities for New Zealand enterprises to access cloud and data centres across Asia Pacific and the rest of the world, giving them more choice and flexibility.

“Console Connect also routes traffic through private networks, avoiding the public Internet to reduce security risks and help maintain data sovereignty for cloud interconnections.”
