According to SpaceWeather.com, the STS-131 landing of the space shuttle Discovery and its crew has been 'Waved off.'
SpaceWeather.com states, 'Unfavorable weather in Florida has prevented space shuttle Discovery from landing in Florida. The orbiter will spend another day in space, landing on Tuesday, April 20th.'
And, according to NASA deputy administrator Lori Garver, from Twitter's Lori_Garver, 'Extra day on orbit for STS-131.'
Garver adds, '1st KSC landing opportunity April 20: deorbit burn at 6:31am & landing at 7:33am.'\
NASA's website on the Space Shuttle adds, "Mission Control Entry Flight Director Bryan Lunney has given Discovery's seven astronauts a "no go" to perform the deorbit burn and decided to wave off the 10:23 a.m. EDT landing opportunity because of continued low cloud coverage at Kennedy Space Center's Shuttle Landing Facility."
Further information about ground tracks and possible landing opportunities for the April 20, 2010 landing of the STS-131 mission will soon be available (if not already) on the home page of SpaceWeather.com website and the NASA website STS-131 Landing Ground Tracks.
