ZoneAlarm 2012 arrives before 2011 is half over

By

The security product season is starting early this year with the arrival of ZoneAlarm 2012 from Check Point.

ZoneAlarm 2012 is here, and we haven't even closed the books on the 2010-11 financial year.

Features include behavioural virus detection and a cloud-based service that gathers data from ZoneAlarm users to improve detection and minimise false positives.

New parental controls allow time limits on gaming or Internet use, and also provide categorised content blocking. When purchased before the end of June, ZoneAlarm 2012 comes with a one-year subscription to ZoneAlarm SocialGuard (normally $19.95) which is intended to protect Facebook users from strangers, account hacking, cyberbullies and dangerous links.

Other features include private browsing (which goes beyond the usual browser features to virtualise, encrypt and erase all activity and content), identity protection services, drive encryption, and a simplified interface.

"One in three computers is infected every year.  With statistics like that, people need a more aggressive and comprehensive security solution," said Bari Abdul, vice president of consumer sales at Check Point Software Technologies. "The new antivirus technologies we are introducing in ZoneAlarm 2012 target hard-to-identify threats, providing the end user with maximum security requiring minimum effort."

ZoneAlarm Antivirus & Firewall and ZoneAlarm Pro Firewall each cost 54.95. ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite is $64.95, and ZoneAlarm Extreme Security retails at $74.95. The products work with Windows XP and later.
