ESET’s Technology Alliance program recognises that security is a multi-layered approach and it is better to help a range of partners to achieve transparent interoperability with each other.
It has welcomed leading data loss prevention (DLP) company Safetica to its alliance with the claim that it will prevent all data leak incidents, identify suspicious activity before a breach and improve productivity – no, it won’t make coffee as well.
DLP (Wiki reference here) has increasingly become a vital part of the security jigsaw puzzle for those who handle any form of personally identifiable information, or sensitive information. It is also critical when a thriving BYOD (bring your own device) ecosystem has grown up – what could be stored on a smartphone or flash drive? That human factor rears its ugly head again!

In EY’s Global Information Security Survey 2015, 56% defined DLP as a high, and 33% as a medium, priority for their organisation over the next 12 months.
Jeronimo Varela, director of global sales at ESET, said, “We are pleased to introduce Safetica, a new member of ESET Technology Alliance. Their DLP suite provides companies with powerful award-winning tool against all types of data loss and data leakage.”
Peter Žikeš, chief executive of Safetica, said, “Former and current employees are the most common factor for 63% of all security incidents companies are confronted with. We provide a full-fledged corporate level Data Loss Prevention solution with complete activity reports that warn against any suspicious behaviour.”
