COMET funding for Valorem

By
The company behind the Praxeo system for managing site access has won a Federal Government grant to help commercialise the product.

The $64,000 COMET (Commercialising Emerging Technology) grant from the Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources requires developer Valorem Systems to contribute one-quarter of that amount to the project, which involves running pilot programs at various sites and preparing case studies to document the successes.

"Praxeo has enormous potential because it fulfills a number of important needs for monitoring and reporting in facilities management," said Valorem CEO Jon Tinberg. "With the assistance of this COMET grant we will be able to secure new clients and reference sites so we can demonstrate that potential."

Praxeo was designed by Sydney-based Valorem Systems for the property management industry. The web-based application allows visitors to a site - contractors, maintenance workers and so on - to 'sign in' and receive only the safety and other messages that are relevant to their function.

Visitors benefit from swift induction, while facilities managers have easy access to accurate information about who is on site, where they are supposed to be, and the hours contractors spent on site.

Praxeo has been chosen by Mirvac to manage the activities of contractors at its shopping centres, office buildings and industrial sites.
