Spacetalk appoints new chairman Featured

Australian-listed technology company Spacetalk has appointed Georg Chmiel as independent non-executive chairman.

Georg Chmiel will join the Spacetalk board from 1 July 2022.

Spacetalk says Chmiel is a business leader, company director and senior advisor with three decades of experience in rapidly growing companies and disruptive technologies who brings strong capital market and technology business expertise with extensive global exposure in Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe.

Chmiel is currently chairman of Juwai-IQI, Asia’s leading prop-tech group. He is also a non-executive director of Centrepoint Alliance, butn and PropTech .

He was also until March 2022 the executive chairman of iCar Asia), and his earlier roles include managing director and CEO of iProperty, and CFO of REA Group.

Spacetalk says that with the appointment of Georg Chmiel as non-executive chairman, current executive chairman Mark Fortunatow will relinquish his chairmanship - and will remain on the board in the role of managing director and CEO.
