US communications regulator the FCC has announced a new investigation into the US operations of Chinese telecoms companies - what it calls CCP-aligned entities - to determine the level of security risks they may pose.

The ‘covered list’ contains equipment and services deemed to pose an unacceptable risk to the national security of the United States and should be removed from any government infrastructure.
