Geek feminist jumps the gun on Shuttleworth speech

Open source consultant Kirrily Robert, who runs a blog called Geek Feminism, has taken Ubuntu founder Mark Shuttleworth to task over words he allegedly used in a talk given at a conference.

Ubuntu may increase Mono-dependent apps

The next release of the popular Ubuntu GNU/Linux distribution may include a third Mono-dependent application by default, a spokesman for Canonical, the parent company for Ubuntu, told iTWire today.
Microsoft seems bent on making netbook users know they’re running the cheapest version of Windows 7. After relenting on the previous restriction only three apps could run at one time the company now will lock the operating system desktop so the default wallpaper can not be changed.

Acer right, Windows 7 launching on October 22

Although no pricing has yet been revealed, Microsoft has confirmed it will launch Windows 7 on October 22, 2009, blowing away the “2010” launch nonsense Microsoft tried perpetuating, while also suggesting discounts to Vista users might be in the works!
