New specifications from the O-RAN Alliance

O-RAN Alliance announced new specifications, its 3rd global plugfest and new demonstrations of O-RAN technology to be held at the LA MWC.

OPPO keeps rolling out new models in its bid to conquer the smartphone market – at least in its homeland of China where it is now #2. The A77 is a definite conqueror in the mass-to-mid-market sgement.

Noted leaker, Evan Blass @EVLEAKS has revealed details disclosed to him by “someone who was briefed on the Galaxy Note 8”. The only difference appears to be a 6.3” 18.5:9 screen over the GS8 Plus 6.2”, possibly a dual camera, and of course the distinguishing feature the S Pen.

Samsung Exynos 9 first 10nm system on a chip

Samsung has launched its new Exynos 9 system on a chip (SoC) that is expected to power the new Samsung Galaxy S8 series.

Samsung has been developing the GS8 for about 18 months now. It delayed the launch from later this week at Mobile World Congress to a new date – 29 March in New York. After three weeks of pre-sales, it will ship to customers on 21 April.
