KRudd tweaks Twitter transparency

Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has quietly tweaked his Web 2.0 communications processes, attaching a moniker to each social media update on services like Twitter and Facebook to help followers recognise whether the message is directly from the PM, or from one of his team.

The Northern Territory has seen the formal launch of One Laptop Per Child deployments in Australia.

Those old enough remember the days when Telstra and Australia Post were one combined Federal Government authority called the PMG (Postmaster General). Under the control of the Government, the PMG built up the core of the extensive national communications infrastructure we have today. The $43 billion FTTH National Broadband Network is a welcome return to those days.
