Nokia kills off Ovi

Nokia has announced, via a post on its blog, that it will drop the Ovi name for its range of Internet delivered content and services rebranding them as simply Nokia services.

Aussie makes top 10 in Nokia developer contest

In case you'd missed it, Apple doesn't own the market when it comes to mobile app development. Nokia's Calling All Innovators contest challenged developers to to create apps that enhance the use of Nokia mobile devices in real-world scenarios. Australian developer Dale Rankine had made the global top 10 for an app developed with the Ovi App Wizard.

Nokia Devices and Services has revised its guidance downwards, for the second time this year, in the face of intensifying competition at the high end of the market.
