All-in-one observability platform unifies data from the cloud with the rest of the IT stack; Supports easier Prometheus and OpenTelemetry instrumentation for hosts and Kubernetes
COMPANY NEWS: F5 has announced its continued support for Cloud Native Computing Foundation’s OpenTelemetry, an open source framework providing a standardised collection of tools to instrument, generate, capture, and export telemetry data (metrics, logs, and traces) to help IT teams better analyse their solutions’ performance and behaviour.
GUEST RESEARCH: New Relic, the all-in-one observability platform for every engineer, published the 2023 Observability Forecast report, which examines the evolution of observability, its impact on the lives of technical professionals, and businesses’ bottom lines. The report reveals observability’s adoption is on the rise in Australia and full-stack observability leads to better service-level metrics, such as improved system uptime and reliability as well as security vulnerability management. Although respondents report a median annual outage cost of over $11 million (US$7.37 million) in Australia, organisations realised a 2x return on their observability investment.
New Relic APJ chief architect Peter Marelas looked at the role of AI in observability, including that of the company's Grok generative AI observability assistant, during the company's FutureStack event in Melbourne this week.
GUEST OPINION: Data science is a classic case of the ‘art of the possible’. Pre-dating the current fever pitch around AI, it sought to assemble new - and harness existing - big datasets for pattern-matching and predictive purposes.
COMPANY NEWS: Software intelligence company Dynatrace today announced it has been named a leader in the 2022 GigaOm Radar for Cloud Observability Solutions. The report evaluated solution providers based on a range of key criteria, including technical capabilities, product roadmap, innovation, and ability to execute. GigaOm placed Dynatrace in its Leaders Circle because of its uniquely comprehensive approach, which combines deep and broad observability, continuous runtime application security, and advanced AIOps to deliver answers and intelligent automation from data in increasingly complex, cloud-native environments. In addition, GigaOm awarded Dynatrace the highest possible scores across all categories in the radar's key criteria for evaluating cloud observability solutions.
