3D revamped Rayman rated

Fans of Ubisoft's limbless hero Rayman will pleased to know that he is indeed headed to Nintendo's upcoming 3DS portable system this year, as confirmed by America's rating board.

Never mind an R18+ rating for computer games; the Australian Federal government has discovered it is missing out on a bonanza from mobile game stores that have not paid for classification altogether. Could this be a revenue windfall or the death of mobile gaming in Australia?

Left 4 Dead 2 left for dead in Australia

The OFLC has effectively banned upcoming 360 and PC title Left 4 Dead 2, refusing it classification and therefore deciding it cannot be released in Australia.

F.E.A.R 2 Banning successfully appealed

Originally banned for high level violence that exceeds the MA 15 + classification, it now looks as if F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin will hit shelves after all.

This week in Nanny State News - F.E.A.R 2 banned

The Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC) have effectively banned the forthcoming horror/shooter F.E.A.R 2 Project Origin.  By not being able to shoehorn the game into the constraints of a non R18+ classification system, the game will be unavailable for adults to play in Australia.

Another example of Draconian laws stifling creativity and adult choice, with the Australian Office of Film & Literature Classification (OFLC) effectively handing down a ban to one of the most highly anticipated titles this year.  No Fallout 3 for you Australia.
