Moto Z’s docking system has received a new member – Incipio’s Vehicle Dock securing to the air vent and connecting to the car audio system via Bluetooth or AUX cable.

 Moto, a Lenovo company, has announced that the Australian rollout of Android Nougat 7.0 is happening.

OPINION It is that time of year when I reflect on what excited me most about devices I reviewed during the year. I reviewed smartphones from $99 to $1799. Some were remarkable.

Google’s new 5” Pixel and the 5.5” XL are good smartphones, verging on great, but their strongest attraction - Pure Android - needs some work. Its user interface (UI) is nowhere near as polished, intuitive or useful as Samsung, LG, Moto, Sony et al.

Moto by Lenovo is back — the new Moto Z may well be the best pure Android handset of 2016 — outclassing the new Google Pixel (which iTWire is also reviewing at present).

Moto wants to be seen as innovative, quirky and cool. After several years in the wilderness, going from Motorola to Google to Lenovo, it believes it has regained its mojo – sorry, Moto!

Moto has fired shots over the bows of the new iPhone 7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 series – it says brand loyalty and habit is no excuse to accept a “new” phone that’s not very different from the old one.
