Gas prices fell significantly during the past year, driven in part by the COVID-19 pandemic, but the competition and consumer watchdog, the ACCC, has flagged that lower prices may not last, with the risk of a supply shortfall remaining.

Energy infrastructure company Jemena has inked a new gas transportation contract with Santos to ship around 8 terajoules of gas per day across the $800 million Northern Gas Pipeline.

Energy spend management company, Bid Energy, has  signed its first government contract with NSW Government organisation, NSW Procurement, to provide invoice review and reporting services for up to 3100 small gas accounts, for the supply of natural gas.
