Global management consultancy firm Accenture is to acquire cloud advisory and technology services company Cloud Sherpas.

Service management vendor ServiceNow has introduced the ServiceNow Store as a way of distributing paid and free applications and integrations for the ServiceNow platform, and inaugurated a new program to foster the company's development community.

CipherCloud, a leading provider of cloud data protection gateways for public and private clouds, announced today that it has entered into a partnership with Cloud Sherpas, a leading enterprise-focused cloud service provider, Platinum salesforce.com Partner, and Google Enterprise 2011 Partner of the Year. This partnership will introduce CipherCloud's cloud encryption gateway technology to Cloud Sherpas' customer base while expanding geographical and vertical markets for both companies.

The wholesale adoption of cloud based computing made listed technology company Altium's move from Sydney to Shanghai last year much simpler from a logistics point of view. In theory having the majority of systems in the cloud should also make the physical location of the company's chief information officer immaterial - but that's not proving the case in practice.
