Blackberry PRIV is only a small part of what it does

Blackberry is back and it wants a slice of the mobility pie – but not in the way it did previously via devices.

BlackBerry says that BBM was downloaded over 10 million times by Android and iPhone users in the first 24 hours it was available. At least one part of the company is doing well.

First announced last September, the BlackBerry Messenger Social Platform has now gone into beta testing. BBM Social Platform allows app developers to create software that takes advantage of the social connectivity infrastructure RIM built for BlackBerry Messenger.
