Apple's OpenCL adopted by industry consortium

Industry consortium Khronos Group has ratified the OpenCL specification designed to make it easier to exploit modern graphics chips for computational tasks. OpenCL was originally proposed by Apple and slated to appear in Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

ATI unleashes the HD Radeon 4530 and 4550

When AMD and ATI launched the new Radeon range, nVidia and integrated Intel graphics were simply blown away and relegated to the last generation. Earlier last month, ATI launched the the HD 4670 and 4650 cards, now come two more at “value prices” while still delivering top performance.
