An email has just arrived in my inbox, introducing me to GoCatch’s new look.
Promoting its ‘refreshed branding’ which includes the new tagline of ‘own your journey,’ the company’s CEO and Co-Founder Ned Moorfield says it is “all about better reflecting how we’re putting customers front and centre in the service we deliver.”
Moorfieldo says “We are here to put you in control of your journey and transform your experience of getting from A to B,” and thanks his customers “for your ongoing support.”
Often when I personally see rebrands of things, I often wonder what is was precisely that was wrong with the old logo, jingle or tagline, but usually end up not only accepting that change is the only constant in the universe, and coming around and warming up to the new changes.
Still, my first impression is of a Google-esque G next to a lucky horseshoe for the ‘o’, which is, at the very least, emblematic (in my mind) of searching for a form of antiquated travel - given that horses aren’t the most modern of travel choices these days.
Of course, with Google, Uber and even Apple, Tesla and others working on driverless cars, a human taxi driver will also one day be an antiquated notion in the whole travel scheme of things.

Still, that day is at least half a decade away, if not twice or thrice that timeframe, so cabbies don’t have to worry about how they’ll fund their retirements just yet - even if, like the Terminator, the day is inexorably and unstoppably on its way.
All of that silliness aside, here are the two videos from GoCatch outlining its new beginnings. The first is the short 1 minute and 17 second version, dubbed “Introducing the new look GoCatch”, while the second is called “Introducing the new look GoCatch - Full length version” and runs for 3 minutes and 39 seconds.
