When the fixed line Fusion plan was launched in July 2007 it offered unlimited standard local, national and calls to Optus mobiles on 24 month contracts at $69 for 2Gbytes of data per month, for $89 7Gbytes and for $99 20Gbytes.
The Virgin Broadband at Home service , launched the same month as Optus Fusion, offered unlimited local and national long distance calls and 4GBs of download data for $60 month, with all traffic carried on the Optus 3G network.
The new Optus OWF service comes with come caveats: it is not suitable for people who require disability services, who have a back to base home alarm system, or who require an uninterrupted telephone line. Also customers cannot preselect any carrier other than Optus for national and international calls and calls to mobiles, and, according to Optus the ACMA Customer Service Guarantee does not apply to the service.
