ASCCA. A non-profit organisation and registered charity that turns 25 next year, the Australian Seniors Computer Clubs Association is Australia's peak body for Seniors and Technology, representing a wealth of computer and technology clubs and their members across Australia.
Being held smack-bang in the middle of Scams Awareness Week, 8-12 November, ASCCA's 23rd Technology Conference for Seniors is being held via Zoom for the second year running, this year on Wednesday, 10 November.
ASCCA has organised a fantastic lineup of speakers to share useful, actionable information that you can use to noticeably improve your life and the way you use tecnologies, enhance and augment your cyber security, learn about the future of health care at home, learn how ACCAN's completely free Accessible Telecoms service helps seniors and people living with disability choose the right technologies to best suit their needs, how Google is developing with Governance AI, how NBN Co sees the future, learn how to leave a digital legacy and much, much more.
The conference is being officially opened by much-loved entertainer, Kamahl, who in his 8th decade is a bona-fide senior. He will be interviewed by the event's Co-MC, Alex Zaharov-Reutt, with a range of questions about Kamahl's thoughts on technology, what's good and not so good with today's tech, how it can be improved for the better, and more!
With knowledgeable speakers, a range of great topics, and fantastic prizes reserved for ticket holders from Nokia and Acronis, this conference is well worth your time.
The event has quality speakers from the CSIRO, NBN Co, Google, the eSafety Commissioner, BeConnected, two great Australia computer and tech user groups, Charlie Brown, host of the very successful and wide-reaching Life and Technology radio show with his incredibly popular "Trends in Technology" presentation at the ASCCA annual conference, along with G Mee for Seniors usage scenarios, the incredible free Accessible Telecoms service from ACCAN, Max Markson talking about Mental Moments, Alex Zaharov-Reutt as closing keynote speaker, ASCCA Founder Nan Bosler to close the conference, and plenty more.
Prizes will be determined on the day during the live event, only paid attendees can win one of the brilliant prizes on offer thanks to generous sponsorship from HMD Global and Acronis.
HMD Global has donated five incredible prizes! There are three Nokia X20 smartphones, one special Nokia XR20 with Nokia noise cancelling earbuds combo, and one Nokia T20 tablet.
There are also ten copies of Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office to be won, with each copy a 5-user license to protect your computers, smartphones and tablets, sharing 1TB of cloud storage.
It's going to be a great conference with great info, not just for seniors, but applicable to adults and kids, too, so please visit ASCCA to learn more, with the conference agenda here, and the Humanitix page to buy a ticket here.
Alex Zaharov-Reutt was elected in November 2019 to be ASCCA's Director of Public Relations and Sponsorship, an entirely voluntary position, and is Co-MC of the event, the closing keynote speaker and the lead organiser of the event, ably assisted by the ASCCA directors on the Conference organising committee.
