Nvidia upgrades Omniverse with generative AI and OpenUSD support Featured

By

The forthcoming release of Nvidia's Omniverse platform will help developers and industrial enterprises optimise and enhance their 3D pipelines with OpenUSD and generative AI.

Omniverse is OpenUSD-native, allowing connections to Cesium, Convai, Move AI, SideFX Houdini and Wonder Dynamics.

Other improvements include added control of Omniverse extensions, new developer templates and resources, new rendering optimisations, and native RTX-powered spatial integration for extended reality projects.

Several Omniverse applications have also been upgraded, including Omniverse USD Composer and Omniverse Audio2Face.

"Industrial enterprises are racing to digitalize their workflows, increasing the demand for OpenUSD-enabled, connected, interoperable, 3D software ecosystems," said Nvidia vice president of Omniverse and simulation technology Rev Lebaredian.

"The latest Omniverse update lets developers tap generative AI through OpenUSD to enhance their tools, and it allows enterprises to build larger, more complex world-scale simulations as digital testing grounds for their industrial applications."

The latest Omniverse release is now available in beta to download free of charge, and will soon be added to Omniverse Enterprise.

Nvidia also announced Nvidia OVX servers featuring the new Nvidia L40S GPU for data centre deployment, three new Ada generation desktop GPUs (RTX 5000, RTX 4500 and RTX 4000), and new RTX-based workstations from Boxx, Dell, HP and Lenovo.
