Pronto goes to Dollywood

By

Melbourne-based ERP and BI developer Pronto Software has secured a major deal with the largest family-owned theme park company in the United States.

Pronto Software has signed a multi-million dollar deal with Herschend Family Entertainment Corporation (HFE), the United States' largest family-owned theme park company.

While HFE is unknown to most Australians, many would have heard of its Dollywood (as in Dolly Parton) theme park in Tennessee.

The company will use Pronto Xi ERP and BI software across its portfolio of entertainment, tourism and hospitality properties.

The software includes financial, distribution, manufacturing, point-of-sale and warehouse management tools, along with IBM Cognos BI facilities.

The rollout will be spread over two years, and when it is completed HFE will become Pronto's largest client in North America.

"We chose to work with Pronto after a very positive experience exploring how their technology and service offering would integrate with our varied systems," said Andrew Wexler, HFE's chief financial officer.

"Pronto came to us with an approach that offered an all-encompassing set of solutions to meet our requirements."

Pronto Software’s approach to engagement played an important part in setting it apart from other vendors.

Terry Leister, vice president for Pronto Software in North America, said said customising Pronto Xi to suit HFE’s specific needs will be an important part of the implementation.
