Macquarie Telecom scores Canstar contract

By

Retail finance ratings provider Canstar has chosen Macquarie Telecom as its managed hosting provider.

Canstar's data will be stored at Macquarie Telecom's Intellicentre 1 data centre in the Sydney CBD.

"Macquarie Telecom's leading position on cloud and emphasis on Australia-centric data residency strongly resonated with Canstar's own strategic imperatives," said Canstar head of IT Peter Hurwood.

"Intellicentre 1 not only offered this with a high degree of technical security, but incorporated management tools such as the InView platform which gave us further control and oversight of our systems, networks and data."

Macquarie Telecom will also provide a data connection between Intellicentre 1 and Canstar's Brisbane office, as well as cloud virtual machines during the transition of the company's applications and services to Intellicentre 1.

"Macquarie Telecom offered us a complete single-vendor hosting service which our previous supplier was unable to provide, giving us the opportunity to combine our hosting and telecoms requirements within a single world-class integrated solution," added Mr Hurwood

Aidan Tudehope, managing director for hosting at Macquarie Telecom said "While Intellicentre 1 proved most appropriate for Canstar's managed hosting needs, we are also hosting clients in our new $60 million Intellicentre 2 data centre, which adds even stronger green credentials and redundancy to Macquarie Telecom's world-class standards for cloud data and hosting services."
