Podio adds calendar sync

By

The Podio collaboration service from Citrix now integrates with Outlook Exchange and Google Calendars.

Podio was designed to make it easy for non-technical users to create their own collaboration workflows.

The service already integrates with a variety of other online services, including file storage (eg Dropbox and SkyDrive), conferencing (GoToMeeting), and applications (eg Zendesk).

The latest enhancement is the addition of calendar integration with Outlook Exchange Calendar and Google Calendar.

Users can connect their Podio calendar with their primary Outlook Exchange or Google calendar to track all dates and times in one place.

Deadlines and events from Podio apps can be fed into the Outlook Exchange or Google calendar.

An update to Podio's own calendar feature makes it easy to toggle between personal and group events, or to display a custom combination of events.

"Calendaring and scheduling have long operated in a silo; we'd make meetings and mark events in one place, but set and work towards deadlines in a separate system," said Tommy Ahlers, VP of social collaboration, Citrix.

"With our latest calendar updates and added integrations, our users' primary external calendars are connected and in sync with day-to-day project work happening in Podio, delivering one consistent global view that's customisable and delivered in real time on any device. No more double booking."
