In a statement, Rogers will deploy Comcast’s network technology, design, and expertise to deliver speeds as it starts to roll out Docsis 4.0.
Comcast uses built-in AI, cloud and, edge compute technology to improve internet service, especially for heavy internet tasks such as applications like gaming, video conferencing, and 4K video.
“We’re continually investing in our national coast-to-coast wireline network, which connects over 60% of Canadian households, to deliver the best network performance to our customers,” claimed Rogers chief technology officer Mark Kennedy.

In August, Rogers began trialing Docsis 4.0 modem technology in select homes in Calgary, delivering 4Gbps download and 1Gbps upload speeds.
These speeds are the fastest available on any Hybrid Fibre Coax (HFC) network and faster than most Fibre to the Home offerings, according to Rogers.
By the end of 2024, Rogers plans to deliver multi-gig speeds of 2Gbps to nearly seven million homes.
Earlier this year, Rogers signed a 10-year agreement with Comcast to bring Xfinity products and technology to Canadians across the country.
Rogers also signed multi-year deals with Comcast-owned NBCUniversal and Warner Bros Discovery to broadcast sports and entertainment content to Canada.
