GoDaddy, which bills itself as ‘the world's largest technology provider dedicated to small businesses’, is also one of the world’s largest domain name providers and hosting companies.
Having introduced .au addresses in 2012, and at the same time offering local support numbers and AUD pricing. Even before that, GoDaddy notes it has already been serving small businesses in Australia for many years and has already established a reputation for putting customers first.
GoDaddy is now going one step further in formally launching its Australian operations and introducing Tara Commerford as GoDaddy Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand.
As you’ll hear in the embedded video interview with Tara Commerford below, she led LinkedIn Australia’s strategic partnerships and brand strategy prior to joining GoDaddy, which resulted in increased awareness, membership engagement and monetisation of LinkedIn’s platform.
Commerford has over 15 years of international and commercial experience, with a focus on market entry, business development, organisational growth, and brand strategy, and naturally seeks to put all of this to great use in accelerating GoDaddy’s growth in Australia.
GoDaddy natural talks up its ‘full suite of products that are localised for small businesses in Australia,’ and notes it is combining its products with ‘award-winning customer care to empower small business owners, and entrepreneurs in Australia, to easily start, confidently grow and successfully run their own ventures.’
As you can imagine, GoDaddy says this includes ‘finding the perfect domain name, website creation and hosting, online marketing, and productivity tools.’
James Carroll, Executive VP of GoDaddy International said: “With our continued international expansion, we are excited to bring GoDaddy’s tailored products and services to small businesses in Australia. Our goal is to help them build impactful and effective digital identities that enable them to connect to their customers and manage and grow their businesses online.
“We are delighted to have Tara leading the business on the ground in Australia,” said Carroll. With Tara at the helm, we have the opportunity to be closer to our small business customers and continue to help entrepreneurs turn their aspirations into reality,” Carroll added.

Commerford is based in Sydney and is now responsible for building GoDaddy’s presence in Australia, promoting its ‘one stop’ product portfolio that makes it easier for small businesses to create a digital presence and become discoverable around the world.
“Australia is built on small businesses. They account for 96% of all companies and the vast majority are micro-businesses. While nearly all of them are connected to the Internet, only 37% have a website of their own. [Both stats from Budget 2015, PDF link here].
“We want to help bridge this gap by continuing to empower small businesses to create and grow their online presence with relevant, affordable products and world-class customer care,” concluded Commerford.
