Flash memory specialist SanDisk has announced a pair of new solid state drives, along with a new distribution channel aimed at SME customers.

One of SanDisk's new SSDs is aimed at retail customers, the other at OEMs.

The SanDisk Ultra Plus SSD (illustrated) is intended as an upgrade for notebook and desktop PCs. It delivers up to 530MBps sequential read and up to 445MBps sequential write speeds. Local pricing was not available at the time of writing, but as an indication US prices are $US74.99 (64GB), $US109.99 (128GB) and $US219.99 (256GB).
The OEM drive is the SanDisk X110, designed for notebook and tablet applications. In addition to fast read/write speeds, the X110 has a low power mode to extend battery life and incorporates write-minimisation technology for improved endurance.

Both new SSD are built using 19nm technology.

To improve its reach to SME customers, SanDisk is implementing a 'SanDisk for Business' program which allows value-added resellers, systems integrators and direct market resellers to supply their customers with OEM and enterprise-grade SSDs. The company offers "generous performance rebates" as part of the program.
