A forthcoming 2.5in hard drive from Seagate packs up to 2TB of capacity into a 7mm package.
The drive is intended for mobile devices, and is said to be substantially cheaper than a 240MB SSD.
2TB is enough to store more than 500,000 songs, 320,000 photos, 240 hours of high definition video or 26 hours of 4K ultra-high definition content, according to Seagate.

Seagate did not say when it expects to start shipping the drive.
The company is investigating the possibility of a hybrid drive in this format, as that would deliver performance closer to that of an SSD but at lower cost.
