The SanDisk CloudSpeed Ultra Gen. II SSD provides up to 1.6TB of usable capacity and has the density and performance required for transactional workloads, delivering up to 32,000 4K write IOPS and 530MBps throughput.
It joins the company's other data centre SSD models, including CloudSpeed Eco Gen. II and CloudSpeed Ascend.
"With CloudSpeed Ultra Gen. II, CSP [cloud service provider] and SDS [software-defined storage] companies can provide an exceptional customer experience, while reducing administrative overhead along with the number of servers and software licenses needed to support transaction and analytical databases," said SanDisk senior vice president and general manager of enterprise storage solutions John Scaramuzzo.

The new drive comes with a five year warranty based on 1.8 device writes per day (random), and uses 15nm MLC flash technology.
CloudSpeed Ultra Gen. II drives will be available in 400GB, 800GB and 1.6TB versions to selected CSP and SDS customers this month, followed by a staggered release through SanDisk's enterprise channel partners.
