The SYD1 data centre is connected to DigitalOcean's private network, with 400Gbps of capacity to Asia, North America, and Europe, thus mitigating jitter, latency and packet loss compared with the public internet.
It also provides seamless peering with hyperscalers, simplifying the implementation of multi-cloud strategies.
"With hundreds of thousands of current customers using our global network today, we're excited to expand the breadth and capability of our infrastructure to better serve small and medium-sized business customers in Australia, New Zealand and the surrounding region," said DigitalOcean CEO Yancey Spruill.

All DigitalOcean products, including droplets, Kubernetes clusters, and managed databases, are available immediately from the SYD1 region.
