BYD released its Dolphin Dynamic in Australia in June, with the launch taking place in Brisbane as the firm could point to the car being the cheapest available in this country given that state's $6000 subsidy.
The Atto 3 is a little more pricey. The RRP for the standard model is about $44,000 plus on-road costs, while the extended range comes in at about $47,000 plus on-road costs. Prices differ from state to state.

I took a short drive in the Atto 3 and found it very smooth. The drive was during office rush hours so I could not test out the acceleration.
The car makes a low noise while travelling at slow speeds, so pedestrians can be aware that a vehicle is around them.
