Education start-up releases quiz app that uses AI

Education start-up Zookal has launched a new app called Quiz Infinity that offers a selections of quizzes based on popular content from Wikipedia using artificial intelligence.

The app, available for iOS and Android, can be downloaded from the respective stores.

This week, one of the popular quizzes is on the battle of Dunkirk, given the release of the film, and a second on O.J. Simpson, given that the former NFL star released on parole.

There are quizzes in various categories like art, business, culture, education, games, health and history.
Zookal's Australian co-founder and chief technology officer Chris Zaharia said: “For us, Quiz Infinity is just the beginning of where the algorithm can go. 

"As a starting place, we can see it being used in education to help students study but beyond this, we see it resonating with other industries as well. 

“The next step for Quiz Infinity will be incorporating news aggregation and using news sources, such as current affairs and entertainment, to ensure our quizzes cover all hot topics that our users are keen to learn more about.”

Zookal was started in 2011 to provide text books on loan for students.
