Like any parent, I'm picky about what I choose for my family because I want to ensure the educational outcomes are solid. I've been looking for a vocabulary app and newcomer Sight and Say by Brainiation is definitely a standout with a terrific array of features.
The app is available from the Windows App Store for Windows 10 devices. It's no harder to pick up and use than flash cards. Yet, unlike flash cards, and unlike many other apps available, you can record your own voice and use it as the audio. That's right - you don't have to worry about international accents whatsoever. For Australians, the voice will be a familiar (namely, mum or dad) Australian voice. My children got familiar with the application very quickly, and hearing my voice boosted their interest.

Another element that appeals to me is the ability to choose between a parent and child interface, giving me different, and appropriate, functionality when my children and I use the app together or when they use it by themselves.
The child interface is well designed and it impresses me how efficiently my youngest daughter can use the app. It's an old adage of software that it needs to be user friendly, and a good indicator of design is how intuitively the target group can interact with it, without instruction. Sight and Say's developers have clearly put a lot of thought and work into the app and the child user interface is extremely simple to use.
For parents, you can track your child's progress through detailed stats and you can synchronise the overall progress in every device you use with your Sight and Say account. For more information visit the Sight and Say website. The purchase is backed by Microsoft's refund policy allowing you to give it a try without risk. I'm sure you will enjoy it and find it gives you some fun and quality time with your children too.
